Finches

Finches are small to medium-sized birds and have stout conical bills adapted for eating seeds and often have colourful plumage. They have a bouncing flight, alternating bouts of flapping with gliding on closed wings. Most sing well and nest in trees, bushes, between rocks or on similar substrate.
